What are the Archons?

The Seven Archons, commonly referred to as The Seven, are the seven gods who rule the seven nations of Teyvat. Each Archon is associated with an element and an ideal, around which they formed their territories and chose the way to govern their nation.

The original Seven were the victors of the Archon War that took place two thousand years before the main story. At the beginning of the game, only two of the original seven Archons remain: Barbatos and Morax.

On February 3, 2021, the character of Xiao finally arrived with the update to version 1.3 of Genshin Impact. However, a debate has started between Chinese players since the release of the first images of Xiao: What is the origin of his mask? Is this the Hannya mask from the Noh plays? Mask that we could recognize quite easily with its demonic horns.
